This Saturday & Sunday Diamond Crew Clothing will be Sponsoring a Summer League Basketball Tournament. This project was brought to Diamond Crew’s attention by head of Marketing DC SG and Diamond Crew Creative Director Jay Ward. This Summer League tournament is one that is specifically geared toward a smaller subsection of Californians, in particular the Sri Lankan-American Community of Southern California. As many of us DON’T know, the sub content of South East Asia has been riddled with poverty, political upheaval and continuous civil war. Recently a 30 year long Civil war in the country of Sri Lanka (or better know as Ceylon) finally came to an end. Some of you may have heard of Sri Lanka a few years back as it was one of the major countries effected by the Tsunami’s that crippled most South East Asian Countries, many of whom still haven’t been able to fully recover. In light of this small bright spot, in what seems to be decades of hardship, Diamond Crew Clothing wants to give back ! We are releasing a limited edition t-shirt (only a 100 pressed), of which 100% of the profits will be going to help the relief efforts in Sri Lanka. The Theme behind this limited edition shirt is Freedom Isn’t Free. That in any war, regardless of what side your alliances lie, that there is a human toll which makes us all have to pay the price for those freedoms. This shirt will be released in 2 primary color waves, Burgundy & Gold (the colors of the Sri Lankan flag) and Red, White & Blue in Memoriam of all the armed forces that have paid the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that we are able go about our lives daily with out worrying about our safety, security or liberties. The shirt will also be released in a few other colors waves for women (Turquoise with Black & Black with Gold), and 2 team Exclusive color waves. The tournament will be held at Veterans Park in the City of Carson, CA this Saturday & Sunday (August 8th & 9th 2009). Diamond Crew will have a booth on site, at the venue this weekend selling the limited edition t-shirts, and also the shirts will be available for purchase next week on Diamond Crew’s website, www.diamondcrewclothing.com, under the Online Shop tab. The critically acclaimed Virginia based hip hop duo, the Clipse, Formed in 1992 by brothers Malice (Gene Thornton, born 1973) and Pusha T(Terrence Thornton, born 1977). The group was originally noticed by and affiliated with multi-platinum production team The Neptunes. Since hooking up with the Neptune and Pharrell Williams it has launched the group to super stardom Producing multiple hit CD’s like Lord Willin’ and Hell Hath No Fury.
