Yazzie Fresh sat down with Up & Coming Shoe Mogul Tina Wong to talk to her about her latest project BellaSole. Let see what they got into…
Q: We are here with Tina Wong, Founder of BellaSole Shoes. How are you Tina?
A: I’m great thanks!
Q: So tell our readers a little bit about how you became a Shoe Mogul?
A: Well, I never intentionally set out to be a shoe mogul. It was one of those things that just kinda happened. At my recent shows I’ve was approached by many girls who told me they have had the same idea at one point, about making a portable type shoe. So I guess instead of just thinking about it, I made it happen.
Q: That’s Incredible! So for our readers that don’t know, what is BellaSole exactly?
A: BellaSole shoes were designed to give girls immediate relief from high heel foot pain. Girls are always complaining how their feet hurt after a night out on the town. BellaSole folding shoes are the alternative to walking barefoot, or wobbling back to your car in your heels before you can take off your shoes. I also designed the clutch it comes in to have 2 purposes, not only to hold the folding shoes, but to be stylish and sleek enough to hold your id card, some cash, and your phone. Everything you need in a small little wristlet.
Q: Where do you draw your inspiration from?
A: I’m inspired from the things and people I love. Family and friends are the most important things to me in the world. There is nothing better than spending a fun day or night out with the people who are closest to you and sharing some good times and debauchery. A lot of great ideas and inspirations are born from mindless chatter, believe it or not.
Q: Oh I believe it. Some of my best article ideas come at the most random moments. So is there anyone who you would want to work with on designing a new shoe?
A: See, I don’t really consider my shoe line as “couture”, it’s more of a necessity. It’s like socks or underwear. I don’t aspire my shoe line to be like anybody else’s style. But I guess if I had to pick somebody to collaborate with, I would pick somebody like Jay Ward of Diamond Crew. He’s got fresh style. LOL
Q: I’m sure that’ll do wonders for Jay’s ego.. LOL. Just Kidding Jay… So what can we look forward to with you & BellaSole?
A: BellaSole has gotten some great response and feedback. I’m hoping to get some new colors out of the ballet flats, but also am working on a flip flop/sandal type folding shoe that is just as compact as the BellaSole folding flats.
